If you haven’t heard of it already, NCPAD’s 14-Week Program to a Healthier You is an interactive, personalized online program designed for individuals with mobility limitations, chronic health conditions, and physical disabilities. The program offers its participants new, personalized exercises each week, physical activity and nutritional tips, motivational resources, features to help users track their physical activity, optional reminders, and many other features.
As a fitness professional, this program is a great resource to suggest to your clients. This program will allow your clients to participate in additional physical activity at home with little to no equipment, and can be a supplement to the programs you have already created for them. Or, if you are a trainer who is simply looking for new ideas for your clients, you can register for the program to view a wide variety of adapted exercises. (Note: If you are signing up for the program to only gain adapted exercise knowledge, please choose “to benefit others” when prompted to answer your primary purpose for joining the program.)
As a fitness trainer, it is important to know about existing programs and additional resources to offer your clients. Your job is not just to provide physical activity options for your clients, but to be a resource on all matters related to exercise and health. By not only offering such programs to your clients, but utilizing them yourself to continue to increase your knowledge base, you can increase the quality of life for your current clients and reach out to prospective clients.
