It is important to note that this study was conducted in Australia, as exercise, perception of disability, and other such issues important to this study are culturally affected.
Discussion
While this article is useful in determining what percentage of an urban population identifies current injury or disability as a reason for not being more physically active, and it does report how age, current weight, and current physical activity level significantly affect that percentage, some very obvious questions are left unanswered: What types of disabilities do these people cite as reasons for not being more physically active? Are they temporary or permanent disabilities? How severe are the disabilities? What about how their disabilities limited their physical activity? These would be important follow-up questions, perhaps as part of another study.
