Many of us cannot wait to venture outdoors as warmer weather arrives and with it, spring's sensory rush of sights and smells. I am an herbalist who loves growing, harvesting, and using my own herbs and flowers. Being an herbalist who uses a wheelchair for mobility presents its own challenges as most field trips, herb walks, and garden tours are inaccessible to me. Gardening allows me to cultivate and establish a familiarity with the plants. I also love to cook, so growing culinary herbs and tomatoes is a must! Whether your interest is in flowers, herbs, or vegetables, barriers can be eliminated so that people of all ages and all abilities can garden.
