Notes

As the snow begins to melt and winter gives way to spring, MDA staff and volunteers across the country prepare for yet another longtime MDA tradition — MDA summer camp.

MDA supports a nationwide network of summer camps offering a wide range of activities specially designed for youngsters who have limited mobility or use wheelchairs. Camp is conducted in a relaxed atmosphere that gives campers opportunities to develop lifelong friendships. Activities range from outdoor sports such as horseback riding, swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, baseball and bowling to less physically demanding programs such as arts and crafts and talent shows. All activities are planned to enable each child to safely experience them. Each child has their own individual counselor. The Middle Tennessee MDA camp is located at Camp Discovery in Gainsboro, Tennessee.
