Introduction
Exercise is for every body. Children born with Down syndrome, the most recognizable form of mental retardation, is analyzed by the variable of age (Down Syndrome Stats). The inclusion of physical activity daily life will improve overall health. For individuals with Down syndrome, physical activity has important implications impacting on health, longevity, and productivity (Fernhall et al., 1989, Pitetti et al., 1991). In this review, the (a) background of Down syndrome, (b) current research published to date, (c) and guidelines for exercise will be discussed.
