Notes

Aquatic therapy is a service utilizing a fully equipped and accessible therapy pool that is maintained at a temperature of 90 degrees. Personalized programs are designed to meet a person's physical and social goals. A certified aquatic therapist completes an assessment and designs a workout plan specific to each person. A therapist is present at each aquatic therapy session for instruction and assistance. Programs increase balance, strength, endurance, range of motion and decrease pain and stress levels. Aquatic therapy promotes natural healing of the body, as well as aiding in weight reduction. Workouts can be completed pain free to the joints and still be highly beneficial to the muscles. Individuals learn to complete their program independently, which encourages them to continue therapy on their own after they leave the program. Aquatic therapy services are available to DRS clients and to non-DRS individuals on a private pay basis. A physician's prescription is required prior to initiating services.
